Every other day there is a new technology being exposed to the market. Our world is growing on a rapid rate. What do you think? The traditional way of working or doing anything will last forever? I don’t think so. The world is becoming an intelligent, digitally enabled hub of smart people, things and services. Those who are not updated with the new day technologies will all of a sudden face a completely digitally enabled world where what is real and what is virtual will have absolutely no border between them. Let’s take a look on some technology trends that is going to change the world completely.

IoT and Smart Regular Tech

Internet of Things (IoT) is an ecosystem of connected physical objects that are accessible through the internet. The ‘thing’ in IoT could be a person with a heart monitor or an automobile with built-in-sensors, i.e. objects that have been assigned an IP address and have the ability to collect and transfer data over a network without manual assistance or intervention. The embedded technology in the objects helps them to interact with internal states or the external environment, which in turn affects the decisions taken.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has been a common delicious platter for everyone for the past few years. There are much talks about the forthcoming revolution of the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and resulting interconnectedness of smart home technology for years.

So, where’s the result? Practically IoT is supposed to tie and connect every devices together in a flawless manner and by now we all were supposed to be living in smart, connected homes. The thing is that we are fully not at that point yet to implement this. Actually too much competition with not much collaboration has resulted the present picture. There are a lot of individual apps and appliances in the market but the platform to tie everything together into a single working model is so little. But with the presence of bigger tech giants like Google, Amazon, Apple etc. we can finally expect to see some advancements on this in the near future.

A multitude of wireless technologies now exist to serve your smart home needs — Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and more. And there’s more smart home platforms to consider than ever before too — Wink, SmartThings, Iris by Lowe’s, even systems from security providers like ADT and big brands like Comcast. While centralization in theory should make things easier, it’s made it worse.

Some smart home gadgets won’t work with certain smart home platforms — for example, your Philips Hue lights won’t work with your Iris by Lowe’s system (likely a business decision as Lowe’s doesn’t carry the Hue product line). Plus if your smart hub goes down, your entire system typically goes with it.

All we can expect is a refocus when it comes to smart homes. Wi-Fi is a tested and true wireless networking technology, and routers are serving up ever larger amounts of bandwidth, so there’s plenty of space to handle your connected home. Also, new smart home devices are choosing Wi-Fi to maximize compatibility.

Instead of using a centralized hub, device manufacturers will focus on interoperability between themselves. This might have the consequence of shrinking the number of directly compatible devices, but it may not matter.

One thing that can be done is to give the place of the hub to a particular company and then other companies like IFTTT can connect those devices in any way you see fit, and Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home can control them by voice. The hub just isn’t necessary anymore, and that might be a good thing.

AR and VR

Augmented reality and Virtual reality has become one of the most mainstream trends in the past few years. VR is a fascinating way to put you somewhere else through the power and ability of technology. Just by using a headset and motion tracking you can take yourself to a virtual space, you can look around as if you are actually there. Especially on the previous year when Niantic launched its legendary mobile game “Pokemon GO” everyone expected that this game will change the way we use AR when the game exploded with over 100 million downloads. Oculus Rift was released, to positive reception, and thousands of VR apps and games followed. The market is ready for AR and VR, and we’ve already got some early-stage devices and tech for these applications, for example “Microsoft Hololens” is one of the most appropriate example when it comes to Virtual reality devices. Tech giants like Google, Samsung, Sony, HTC, Xiaomi and even Lenovo has put their money in this segment. No doubt AR and VR has a huge growth potential in the upcoming years and once it happens, you’ll need to be ready for AR and VR versions of practically everything—and ample marketing opportunities to follow. As Amazon Go has already hit the ground running by leveraging some of this tech you can expect virtual reality tech to pop up anywhere in the upcoming years.

AI, Machine Learning and Automation

Now coming to my favorite part. Not too long ago, Artificial intelligence seemed like a Hollywood movie only stuff. Machine learning done by AI is an even greater leap. By 2017, however, expect more systems that can actually learn and change their behavior—leading the way for more intelligent devices. The race is on, though, to see who will dominate the market. Tech giants like Google, Amazon, Apple, and IBM are all in the running. Machine-learning updates will rise across all tech, but who will be the big winner for this platform war is still up for grabs.

Machine learning has taken some massive steps in the past few years, even emerging to assist and enhance Google’s core search engine algorithm. But again, we’ve only seen it in a limited range of applications. We can expect to see machine learning updates emerge across the board in the near future, entering almost any type of consumer application you can think of, from offering better recommended products based on prior purchase history to gradually improving the user experience of an analytics app.

Believe it or not AI will take up most of the works that presently human is doing, with advanced technology enabling the automation of previously human-exclusive tasks. When automation is combined with machine learning, everything can improve even faster. Starting from driverless cars to writing the news. Automated customer service is also an aspect that has to be kept in mind. It won’t go away but I’ll get better. Online customer service is also on the verge of being fully automated thanks to huge tech giant like Microsoft for providing the market with unique and better AI and chatbots that understand context a whole lot better than ever before. Right now, the chatbots on our smartphones are fairly rudimentary, but that doesn’t stop us from using them. My guess is that as more people use smartphones—and those numbers increase by the day—chatbots and business bots will evolve to meet more demanding needs.

What about the negative effects? Well, there are some, likewise we’ve heard complaints for a long time about the lack of interpersonal communication these days. And jobs may be lost as a result of the move away from humans. No doubt, the discussion surrounding how far we’ll let automation run our lives will only get louder in the near future.

Humanized Data

Humanized data has been a trendy topic for near about the past five years. The idea is that mass quantities of gathered data—which we now have access to—can help us in everything from planning tours and better health management to executing better marketing campaigns. But the greatest strength of it is its quantitative, numerical foundation. Side by side it is also a weakness. In the near future we can expect to see some major advancements on this particular platform.

On-Demand Services

Brands like Uber, Foodpanda, Swiggy and many more have created the buzz of getting almost everything on demand. Starting from Food, service, consumer products to apparels everything you can get at your doorsteps. The market is also preparing to enable on demand services for industrial products also. People are getting used to having everything on demand via phone apps and even via a single phone call. And in the era of Reliance JIO nothing matters. This segments of the market is growing on a rapid rate and as we have thousands of apps available to us to get rides, food deliveries, and even a place to stay for the night, it’s not far when we’ll see this evolve into even stranger territory.

Cloud Migration and Cyber Security

Cloud adoption has become a new trend in the market. As everything is going wireless and online based, storage system has also adopted some new technology. Investing in cloud-first technology will mean substantial benefits for businesses, including reduction in hosting and equipment costs, increases in capacity, streamlined operations, enhanced collaboration, and increased productivity. For many businesses, jumping on a new tech for storage back-up is a scary process, but this has been a few years coming. Cloud-to-cloud storage backup will be part of a business’s overall digital transformation in the coming year.

Security in the world of the internet of things (IoT) is one of the most important things that one has to keep in mind it must be as agile at the components people use. Loopholes in security systems has become a dominant threat in the present days. Cyber security must be both fluid and adaptive.

From prevailing tech to the upcoming tech each and everything matters and has the potential to create a better, smart, fast and connected future. As our society is moving forward and new generation is brain storming everyday a new tech is being born. Technological advancement is growing at a rapid rate and in the near future many more unique and awesome tech trends are obviously coming.
